Virat Kohli thrives on difficulties, and he is constantly motivated to reach new heights by them.

Given the criticism surrounding his selection for the T20 World Cup, the former captain of India has made it his mission to demonstrate his ability to compete with the best in the game.

In Royal Challengers Bengaluru's opening home game of the season on Monday, a full Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed his 49-ball 77. With Dinesh Karthik's last touches, it set the stage for RCB's maiden triumph.

It was obvious that his approach had changed. After hitting eight fours in his first fifteen balls, Kohli sprinted to 33. In a Twenty20 contest, it was the most runs he has ever scored from his opening fifteen balls. He scored at a 150 strike rate in the middle overs, where he was as fluid.

The shots were pure cricket, with little chance for the fielders to anticipate. There was little slogging involved. However, Kohli was fortunate to have avoided being dropped at first slip by Jonny Bairstow off the second ball of the innings.

"As I am opening here in T20 cricket, I strive to give the team a flying start. After RCB defeated them by four wickets, Kohli stated, "But you have to understand the conditions as well if the wickets fall from the other end."

"The wicket was not as serene as it usually is in Bengaluru." The speed seemed a little off. And I believed that I had to play accurate cricket shots. I tried a few times, but playing across the line was not quite clicking.

Throughout his innings, Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada both produced spectacular lofted cover drives after coming down the pitch.

He remarked, "They know I play the cover drive pretty well." Therefore, they won't let me pass through the openings. Additionally, you need to impart some momentum into the ball if you are hitting (excellent) length with people like KG and Arshdeep, who is also tall. You kind of cancel out the bounce as you go closer to the ball and meet it sooner.

You must occasionally establish a plan and work to continually raise your level of performance. I am aware that my name is now largely associated with simply promoting T20 cricket around the globe. but I suppose you still received it.

Kevin Pietersen, who previously stated during commentary that Kohli should be included in the T20 World Cup squad for the "good of the game regardless of his performances," was subtly mocked by this.

Pietersen remarked, "You want someone like Virat Kohli to grow the game in America and globally."

Following the birth of his second kid, Kohli missed the entire five-Test series against England. He also highlighted the time he spent with his family away from cricket.

"We weren't within the nation. We were in an area where not many people knew who we were. For two months, all that Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma wanted was some quality time together as a family and to feel normal. For my family and me, it was an unbelievable event.

Naturally, from a family standpoint, things change drastically when you have two children. It's wonderful to be able to spend time with your older child and form ties with them. Really, I couldn't be more appreciative of God for giving me the chance to spend time with my family.

"Yeah, I told the men that the voices back home felt so much louder after we left the location we were in. I just wasn't used to hearing my name after two months, so I was unable to look up.

"And then all of a sudden you hear these loud noises, and then it's all over again." However, it was stunning. The experience of simply being a stranger on the road is incredible.

Kohli expressed his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering love and support. People talk about a lot of different stuff when you play, and it's been going on for years. The accomplishments, the figures, the statistics... Look, you won't remember the statistics and numbers when you look back on this in the end. It's the memories you make," remarked Kohli.
