Odisha Governor's Visit to Chief Minister's Residence Sparks Controversy

A dispute has arisen from the meeting between chief minister Naveen Patnaik and recently appointed Odisha governor Raghubar Das at Naveen Nivas.

The party claims that the governor should not have broken procedure, as the Congress has accused him of doing. But Naveen and the governor were supported by the BJD and the BJP as well.

After arriving back in Delhi on Thursday evening, the governor headed directly to Naveen Nivas. Das was in Naveen's house for about thirty minutes. Being the head of state, the Congress has not been pleased with his visit to Naveen Nivas.

Das tweeted that he visited Chief Minister Naveen Nivas to wish him a good Diwali and that they spoke about matters of Odisha's development.

The governor's official account, X, said the following from Governor House: "The governor made the honorable chief minister a courtesy call at Naveen Niwas. He gave a detailed discussion on Odisha's progress and wished the Hon. Chief Minister good health and continued service to the state.

"Happy to meet Hon'ble Governor of Odisha," tweeted Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. spoke about a variety of Odisha-related subjects, and I'm excited to collaborate with him for the sake of the nation and its citizens.

Former minister and senior Congressman Panchananan Kanungo declared: "The governor broke protocol." Instead of calling on the governor at Naveen Niwas, the chief minister made the reverse move. We surmise that the Governor intended to give Naveen the message he had received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he returned from Delhi. We are interested in learning the message he sent Naveen right away after his meeting with Modi.
