Authorities stated on Tuesday that a private school in the city fired a teacher who was accused of offending the religious feelings of her pupils, after a furore over the matter from officials of the Bharatiya Janata Party and right-wing activists.

The St. Georosa Higher Primary School administration in this place took action in response to grievances raised by BJP officials and the parents of a class VII student.

In a session on the theme of "work is worship," the parents of a kid filed a complaint at the Mangaluru South police station on Monday, requesting that the instructor be punished for allegedly using disparaging language regarding Hindu gods. Bharat Y Shetty and Vedavyas Kamath, two BJP MLAs, raised the matter and threatened to stage demonstrations unless the instructor was disciplined severely.

According to Shetty's remark, this is not the first time that pupils have been exposed to anti-Hindu attitudes at certain institutions.

Additionally, he pleaded with Hindu parents not to send their kids to schools with Christian administrators.

It is said that the instructor attempted to incite "anti-Hindu" sentiments in the kids by telling them that the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharat were "imaginary."

Late on Monday night, the St. Georsa School administration sent a letter to the parents of the school informing them that the instructor will be replaced by a new educator.

The letter emphasized how crucial it is to keep up good contacts with parents and kids in order to guarantee that academic pursuits continue unhindered. The accused teacher has been immediately removed from the school in response to the occurrence, and a replacement will be chosen as soon as possible, the statement said.

The letter from the school said that the decision to remove the teacher is intended to enable a comprehensive and objective investigation into the incident by the district education department and that the school administration has pledged full cooperation for the ongoing investigation by authorities.

"In its 60-year existence, St. Gerosa School has never previously seen an occurrence of this kind. The organization is dedicated to protecting constitutional principles and granting equality to all groups and religions.

"Despite the temporary mistrust resulting from this unfortunate incident, the school is optimistic that the decisive measures taken, coupled with active cooperation from parents, will contribute to rebuilding trust and fostering a brighter future for all students," the letter read.
