Quick Style Joins Diljit Dosanjh in "Magic" Music Video to Kick Off Coke Studio Bharat Season 2
Norwegian Dance Group Adds Flair to Punjabi Song's Rhythms
To kick off the second season of the music series, Coke Studio Bharat released a music video for the song "Magic" by singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh, which features the well-known Norwegian dance group Quick Style.
In the music video, the 40-year-old singer—best known for the songs G.O.A.T., Lemonade, and Peaches—is seen dancing to the rhythms of his most recent song, which captures the alluring power of love, while sporting an enormous black graphic shirt and a red turban.
Claim[ing] to be a portrayal of “the instant of your initial fascination, the instant of falling in love through the depth of your eyes with your universe rendered listless,” the song tells the tale of a guy who, upon falling in love, loses all control.
The song's melody was composed by Inderpal Mega, while Channi Nattan wrote the words.
Members of Quick Style make an appearance in the music video wearing black coats and dancing to the Punjabi song's rhythms.
Following their 2022 reproduction of the Kala Chashma song from the 2016 film Baar Baar Dekho, the dance company had a huge surge in popularity on social media. During their 2023 tour to India, the group shook hands with a number of well-known Indians, including as Virat Kohli and Raveena Tandon.
The music series is a fusion experiment that "celebrates cultures coming together and boundaries blurring," according to Coke Studio India's official YouTube account.
Season 2 of the program is expected to include songs by Diljit, Shreya Ghoshal, Neha Kakkar, and Digvijay Singh in addition to Aditya Gadhvi, Jasleen Royal, Amira Gill, Maithili Thakur, and Ravi Kishan.
Over 70 million people have seen Diljit's most recent music video, Hass Hass, which he co-wrote with Australian singer-songwriter Sia.
