Ravichandran Ashwin Praises Jasprit Bumrah's Dominance in Boomball
Ravichandran Ashwin has credited Jasprit Bumrah for India’s win over England in Visakhapatnam.

The gossip of the town is "Boomball," not "Bazball." That's how Ravichandran Ashwin sees it.

In the second Test match against 'Bazball' England, senior Indian off-spinner "Boomball" stole the stage, showboating in his adulation for colleague Jasprit Bumrah. He praised Bumrah's ascent to the top of the Test standings as well.

In the second Test in Visakhapatnam, Bumrah showed incredible skill with the ball to be instrumental in the team's 106-run victory that leveled the series.

He produced six wickets (6/45) in England's first innings with a masterclass in reverse swing, and he added three more wickets for match figures of 9 for 91 in their second effort.

As a result of his performance, he became the first Indian bowler to reach the top of the Test rankings. Prior to this, Bumrah was ranked first in both the ODI and T20I rankings.

Boomball was the true star of the show. On his YouTube channel, Ashwin said, "Jasprit Bumrah has bowled extraordinarily."

"With 14 wickets to his name, he leads all test bowlers in wicket-taking and is placed first overall. the first fast bowler from India to rank first in all competitions. I adore him, and this is an incredible accomplishment."

India benefited, according to Ashwin, by the tremendous atmosphere and fervor of the second Test's fourth day.

"As we entered the fourth day, everything was even-stevens. However, we leveled the series 1-1 because to our amazing attitude, vigor, and teamwork."

The majority of Indian players, according to Ashwin, have never played Test cricket in Rajkot, Ranchi, or Dharamsala, where the five-match series will now take place. Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam hosted the first two Test matches.

As to Ashwin, India's home advantage is nullified because to their unfamiliarity with the locales.

"There has never previously been a major Test series held in five such locations. We toured Australia in 2017, first stopping in Dharamsala and Ranchi, followed by Pune and Bengaluru. When a 4-5 match Test series is played, at least one or two of the matches usually take place in major cities.

"Unlike that, this time it's happening in venues that weren't part of World Cup matches," Ashwin said.

"These venues are new to the majority of Indian players. Many players on our squad are new to the Vizag venue and have never participated in a first-class or Test match.

"I don't think that would be feasible in any other nation. yet feasible in India since there are several test locations.

The familiarity with home disappears in these situations. Naturally, they would have participated in the IPL, T20, or ODI, but in red ball, experience definitely helps."

Break away from the series

London: Due to a left knee injury, England left-arm spinner Jack Leach was declared unable to play in the next three Test matches against India on Sunday by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Nevertheless, Leach will not be replaced, suggesting that England will play the remainder of the tour with the spin combination of Tom Hartley, Rehan Ahmed, and Shoaib Basheer. The visitors' fourth spin option is Joe Root.

Due to the injury, Leach was unable to play in the second Test in Visakhapatnam after suffering it during England's first-round triumph in Hyderabad.

"He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours, where the England team has been staying ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, which starts on Thursday (February 15)," the European Central Bank said in a statement.

In addition to being a good lower-order batsman, the 32-year-old Leach has claimed 126 wickets in 36 Test matches.
