Bengali actress Ritabhari Chakraborty announced on social media on Wednesday that she was excited for her first foreign production, Papa Buka, which is a collaboration between Papua New Guinean and Indian partners. The post also included the first poster for the film, which is directed by Dr. Bijukumar Damodaran.

Papa Buka, which is hosted by Pa. Ranjith, stars Prakash Bare and Ritabhari in the key roles. Ritrabhari shared her enthusiasm for the impending endeavor on Instagram. She wrote, "Need your blessings," next to the movie poster.

Papa Buka's soundtrack will be composed by three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej, while Yedhu Radhakrishnan will handle director of photography duties. Mid-July 2024 is when filming in Papua New Guinea is scheduled to start.

The film is co-produced by Pa. Ranjith, Cathy Angeline Mereun Sike, and Prakash Bare; Adhya Prasad and Parul Agrawal are in charge of its implementation.

The project was formally announced by Noelene Taula Wunum (NAFA) and Inbasekar Sundaramurti, High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. Papua New Guinea hosted the announcement for prominent project participants Parul Agrawal (executive producer), Adhya Prasad (production controller), and Indian film personalities Davis Manuel (film editor) and Dileep Daz (chief production designer).

Prior to this, Ritabhari collaborated with Prakash Kare and Bijukumar on the 2018 movie Painting Life.
