Despite earning Rs 30 crore at the domestic box office on its first day, Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki failed to make a significant impression like his other 2023 releases, Pathaan and Jawan. These data tracking websites track entertainment industry releases.

Jawan, the Bollywood star's most recent release, brought in Rs 75 crore on its first day of release, while Pathaan, which debuted in theaters in early 2023, brought in Rs 57 crore net.

Dunki, the first film to feature Shah Rukh and director Rajkumar Hirani together since 3 Idiots, opened at the seventh-highest position among Hindi films in 2023. In addition to Jawan and Pathaan, the Hirani film's Day 1 earnings are surpassed by Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (Rs 54.75 crore nett), Salman Khan's Tiger 3 (Rs 43.1 crore nett), Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 (Rs 40 crore nett), and Prabhas' Adipurush (Rs 37.25 crore nett).

Prabhas' action thriller Salaar, which debuted in theaters on Friday, is probably going to give Dunki some serious competition. With over 2.2 million tickets sold in advance, the action film helmed by Prashanth Neel has made a total of Rs 48.94 crore across all languages.

The majority of the earnings, or Rs 38.25 crore, came from the sale of 1.69 million tickets in the Telugu version of Salaar. The Hindi version sold 2.1 lakh tickets, bringing in a gross of Rs 5.6 crore.
