"Madgaon Express," the directorial debut of actor Kunal Kemmu, has earned Rs 20 crore at the domestic box office, the producers said on Friday.

On March 22, the comedy, which was produced by Excel Entertainment and Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, was shown in theaters throughout the nation.

"Madgaon Express" had an impressive launch, earning Rs 7.16 crore in its first weekend of release and garnering excellent reviews.

"The movie has established a strong path at the box office. Following a stellar first week, it performed admirably in the second, earning Rs 71 lakh on the second Monday, Rs 65 lakh on Tuesday, Rs 62 lakh on Wednesday, and Rs 60 lakh on Thursday, culminating in an impressive total of Rs 20.33 crores for the two weeks," the makers stated in a press release.

"Madgaon Express" chronicles the adventures of three childhood friends who travel on an unsuccessful vacation to Goa. Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, and Avinash Tiwary portray the pals.

The author of "Madgaon Express" is Kemmu, who has acted in films such as "Kalyug," "Go Goa Gone," and "Lootcase."

Nora Fatehi, Upendra Limaye, and Chhaya Kadam are also featured in the film.
