The entertainment business announced on Thursday that the animated short The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story would debut on Sony Pictures Animation's official YouTube channel on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. (IST).

The short, which is set in the universe of the Oscar-nominated series Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, centers on Miles Morales, a teenager who battles to combine his life as Spider-Man and an ordinary student. The Spider Within gives readers a peek into the adolescent's fears and eventually demonstrates Miles' realization that he needs assistance to resolve his inner turmoil.

"Miles embodies countless individuals striving to live our lives to the fullest," said Jarelle Dampier, the director of The Spider Within, in a statement.

"Our bodies often make us aware of the experiences they've had before we realize the whole extent of what we've gone through," he continued, adding that his goal is to encourage "deeper conversations amongst friends & family about their own mental health journeys." He concluded, saying, "I hope it feels like a love letter to those who adore Miles Morales."

Kevin Love, the creator of KLF and a professional basketball player who advocates for mental health, said, "My hope for the short film would be for everyone, especially young people, to understand that your feelings are valid and that you are not alone in this."

Kevin emphasized the value of asking for assistance from others, saying that Miles in the short film "You See It With Spider-Man," has a valued confidante. He can talk to his dad about what's going on while they stroll.

In the genre-bending thriller The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story, Miles Morales plays the amiable neighborhood Spider-Man of Brooklyn while juggling his obligations as a student, friend, and teenager. According to Sony Pictures, the official synopsis of the animated film states that Miles has a panic attack after a particularly trying day dealing with these pressures. This forces him to face the symptoms of his anxiety and discover that asking for help can sometimes be just as courageous as defending his city from evil.

The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story, directed by Jarelle Dampier and written by Khaila Amazan, is produced by David Schulenburg and Michelle Raimo-Kouyate, the developers of the LENS program.
