Trinamul Accuses BJP of Sabotaging Train Bookings for Kolkata Event

After Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) authorities on Sunday canceled the former's reservations of two special trains to transport party members to Calcutta for the massive event on March 10, the Trinamul leadership in north Bengal accused the BJP on Tuesday.

"On March 10, we scheduled two trains via the IRCTC to transport our employees to the Jana Garjan Sabha in Calcutta, according to all necessary protocols. Each of us had deposited Rs 11 lakh. The reservations were abruptly canceled by the railways, according to Udayan Guha, the minister of development for north Bengal, who was in Siliguri. "The BJP ordered it to be done. The party attempted dishonestly to obstruct our large gathering in Calcutta, but such strategies are ineffective.

On March 8, the trains were scheduled to leave Alipurduar and Cooch Behar for Sealdah.

Trinamul MP Prakash Chik Baraik said, "BJP leaders forced railway officials to cancel trains because they fear lakhs will assemble in Calcutta at our event." They can't stop us, however. We are organizing other forms of transportation."
