Vijay Sethupathi Seeks Revenge in Gripping Trailer for ' Maharaja'
Anurag Kashyap Plays Villain in Mystery Thriller
In the first teaser for Maharaja, released by the makers on Thursday, Vijay Sethupathi plays an average barber who is on a quest to reclaim his “Lakshmi” from the scary antagonist played by Anurag Kashyap.
The one-minute, 43-second teaser opens with Vijay in the role of Maharaja, a regular barber from K.K. Nagar. He appears distressed as he reports to the police that someone broke into his home and took his "Lakshmi." But after making multiple inquiries, the police discover that Vijay's pilfered "Lakshmi" is not made of gold, cash, or priceless items.
Following the filing of a FIR, Vijay makes a number of motions intended to indicate at what "Lakshmi" might be to the police. However, nobody can comprehend him. He is expelled from the police station as well.
The cops discover that Maharaja is keeping a secret about a significant incident that occurred in his home the night of the robbery, and the ensuing scenes depict goons getting ready for battle.
Anurag can be seen turning to face Vijay at the end of the trailer. He smiles cruelly, malice radiating from his eyes.
Mamta Mohandas, Bharathiraja, Natarajan Subramaniam, Abhirami, Singampuli, and Kalki are among the other stars in Maharaja. Nithilan Saminathan is the film's director, and Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy are its producers. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the soundtrack for the movie.
