Ali Fazal Joins Cast of Mani Ratnam's Gangster Film Thug Life Alongside Kamal Haasan

The actor verified the news on his Instagram Story on Thursday by posting a report from US entertainment magazine Variety. Ali Fazal has joined the cast of Mani Ratnam's next gangster drama Thug Life, which also stars Kamal Haasan.

"I am incredibly excited to contribute to Mani Sir's Thug Life idea. And all I can hope is that I add something meaningful to this painting. Working with Kamal Haasan, sir, is also an honor, the man stated in a statement.

Ali thanked Mani Sir for giving him the part, describing the chance to work with two legendary figures in Indian cinema as humbling. He continued, "I can't wait to bring it to life on screen."

The background music for Thug Life, which was written by Ratnam and Haasan, will be provided by A.R. Rahman. Trisha Krishnan, Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, Silambarasan Rajendar, Joju George, Gautham Kartik, and Aishwarya Lekshmi are also part of the ensemble cast.

In addition to working with Ratnam, Ali is getting ready for the next movie, Metro In Dino, which is directed by Anurag Basu. Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Pankaj Tripathi are also in the movie.

Haasan and Ratnam initially worked together on the gangster film Nayakan in 1987, and it went on to become a big hit. Haasan represented India at the 1988 Oscars and won the Best Actor prize at the Indian National Film Awards for his role in the film.
