Ashwatthama: Protector of the Future
In the year 2898 AD, a timeless warrior defends humanity against an ancient threat.
Before the movie's June 27 release, the makers of Prabhas' upcoming dystopian sci-fi picture Kalki 2898 AD have released a new release trailer featuring never-before-seen images of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone's characters.
The two minutes and twenty-two-second teaser, which was released by the producers on Friday, opens with Ashwatthama informing Deepika's character that God lives in her womb before he unleashes his full force on Prabhas. In the video, Prabhas is seen carrying out Saswata Chatterjee's despot's command to find Deepika's pregnant wife.
Next, Kamal Haasan's appearance from the movie is seen in the trailer. The actor, who portrays Supreme Yaskin, the antagonist, has a bald head and a wrinkled face that make him unrecognizable. He remarks that no matter how many opportunities someone acquire, they will never be able to change who they are.
The next scenes, which are set to a war song sung by Bachchan, see Deepika and other civilians attempting to defend themselves during the conflict. In the teaser, Malvika Nair also makes an appearance as a pregnant lady who gets struck by a laser. An dramatic scene featuring Bachchan and Prabhas getting ready for their big fight concludes the video.
It is assumed that Deepika's unborn child is Kalki, the tenth and last predicted incarnation of Vishnu.
Kalki 2898 AD, which was first supposed to open in theaters on May 9, will now open on June 27. Production hold-ups have apparently caused the release date to be moved forward.
The film, which is directed by Nag Ashwin, was shot by Djordje Stojiljkovic, with cinematography by Santhosh Narayanan. Brahmanandam, Shobhana, and Disha Patani are also included in Kalki 2898 AD.
