Asian Academy Creative Awards 2023: Rajshri Deshpande and Vijay Varma Triumph as Best Actors, India Shines

At the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2023, which were held in Singapore on December 7, actress Rajshri Deshpande took home the best actress trophy for her work in the Netflix series Trial by Fire, while actor Vijay Varma won the best actor award for his role in the Amazon Prime Video series Dahaad.
In Trial by Fire, Rajshri portrays a bereaved mother who is seeking justice for her children. In contrast, Vijay's portrayal of a serial killer in the television series Dahaad skillfully won over the audience.
For the Amazon Prime Video Series Jubilee, Pratik Shah won the best cinematography prize.
India tied with Japan and Singapore for the most awards at the ceremony, which honors excellence in the television and film industries across 16 Asia-Pacific nations, with seven.
Vijay posted on Instagram, "Winning an award is always amazing, but this time it was extra special because your win is your country's win."
He continued, "I am happy to tell my countrymen that we are the best in Asia-Pacific, baby. I was nominated alongside ten other acting talents from across Asia-Pacific, and it was quite a Power packed room."

Rajshri conveyed her appreciation for her nation and the villages in which she was raised. The 41-year-old actress acknowledged her lowly beginnings and emphasized the value of having dreams.
She stated on Instagram, "I was representing the dreams of millions of people just like me who never ever thought they could dream and even if they do, don't know how to fulfil."
