Bengal: Decomposed bodies of four of family found in flat in North 24 Parganas
The police suspect that the man murdered his family members by poisoning them and then died by suicide
Four family members' decomposing remains were discovered in their apartment in the North 24 Parganas region of West Bengal, according to authorities.
According to a police official, the dead were textile trader Brindaban Karmakar, 52, his wife Debasree Karmakar, in her forties, their daughter Debaleena, 17, and their son Utsaha, 8.
The deceased were discovered in the shuttered flat on M S Mukherjee Road in the Khardah neighborhood on Sunday.
The guy poisoned his family members, according to police suspicions, and then committed himself.
Three more victims were located in various locations around the apartment, he added, and his body was discovered hanging from the ceiling.
The guy stated in a suicide note that he could not stand it when his wife had an extramarital affair, so he took drastic measures, the officer added.
The cops were called by the locals when they noticed an unpleasant odor coming from the residence. He said that since the door was secured from the inside, it had to be burst open.
The officer further said that more investigation is in progress after a forensic team inspected the scene.
