The highly anticipated "Mickey 17," director Bong Joon Ho's first film since the Oscar-winning "Parasite," has been postponed and will now open in theaters in January of next year.
Warner Bros. had originally planned for the picture, which starred Robert Pattinson in the main role, to be released in March of this year, but the release date was pushed back.
The strikes in Hollywood and other production changes are said to be the reason for the film's postponement. Variety reports that the new release date is January 31, 2025.
After "Parasite," the first non-English film to win the best picture Oscar in 2019, "Mickey 17" will be the Korean director's debut feature film.
One of the most well-known modern Korean directors, Bong Joon Ho, is credited with helming critically praised movies including "Memories of Murder," "The Host," "Snowpiercer," and "Okja."
