Delhi Capitals Struggle in the Shadows: A Critical Clash Against Gujarat Titans

Due to the focus primarily on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Delhi Capitals' dismal IPL season has largely gone forgotten. Delhi has had an average season, much like RCB, with just two wins in six games.

And things can become worse if they lose on Wednesday in Ahmedabad against the Gujarat Titans. Just above RCB at the bottom of the 10-team table is Delhi, ranked second from the bottom.

With three victories and three defeats this season, the Titans have had a mixed record. They will start as the favorites on Wednesday since they have a stronger team on paper.

There are further points that support the Titans' position. David Miller, a batter from South Africa, is expected to rejoin the club after missing three games due to a niggle. Wriddhiman Saha, a keeper-batter, can do the same.

Conversely, Delhi is at a disadvantage because of David Warner's injury. Abishek Porel is a strong candidate to open for Prithvi Shaw against the Titans, thus the seasoned Australian opener is unlikely to play.

The Titans have found strength in the shape of their skipper and leading run scorer, Shubman Gill. The Titans are more assured now that Afghan spinners Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad are performing effectively.

Once again, Delhi will largely depend on captain Rishabh Pant. Thus far, the keeper-batter has looked good, and with more games, he'll probably grow even better.

Kuldeep Yadav, a wristspinner, is still their primary weapon though.
