In the Anantnag area of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, terrorists shot and killed a Bihari laborer. This is the third incidence of this kind to occur in the valley this year, according to police.

They said that near Jablipora in the Bijbehara region, the terrorists opened fire on Raja Shah at point blank range, seriously injuring him.

The authorities reported that after being taken to a hospital, he passed away from his wounds.

The event happened in the Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, which will hold its third round of elections on May 7.

So far this year, there have been three attacks of this kind in the valley against visitors.

Amritpal Singh, a laborer from Amritsar, Punjab, was shot and killed by terrorists on February 7 in the Shalla Kadal neighborhood in the Habba Kadal district of this city.

A day after the tragedy, Rohit Mashi, a non-local worker who was also from Amritsar, passed away due to his injuries.

Terrorists shot and injured Dilranjeet Singh, a non-local taxi driver, in the Shopian area on April 8.

Political groups denounced the Anantnag attack, with National Conference president Farooq Abdullah stating that these kinds of occurrences will impede peace.

"JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President @OmarAbdullah express shock and grief at the news of Rajshah Ji's passing. He was shot in Bijbehara today and suffered severe injuries. They strongly denounce the assault, stressing that these kinds of terrorist activities obstruct peace in J&K "The NC wrote on X.

Mehbooba Mufti, the head of the Peoples Democratic Party, referred to it as a "senseless act of violence".

Her words, "My deepest condolences to his family," continued.

Altaf Thakur, the BJP's spokesman for Jammu and Kashmir, also denounced the murder.

"Such actions are a reflection of rivals' discontent, and they won't in any way bring back the politics of the Kashmiri election boycott. He urged the authorities to find and severely punish the people who killed this defenseless man.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the head of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, stated that people need to unite in opposition to such an act.

"We vehemently denounce the horrific Bijbehara incident, wherein Raja Shah, a non-local from Bihar, lost his life in this needless act of violence... People want peace, but militants don't want peace, therefore this has to stop. We have to unite in opposition to this atrocity!" On X, Azad said.

Sajad Gani Lone, the head of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference, condemned the "senseless violence" and declared that such cruel deeds had no place in a civilized society.
