Eden Gardens Transformed for World Cup: Colorful Vertical Gardens, Museum-Like Atmosphere at Club House Subtitle: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has worked hard to have the venue ready before the World Cup's opening match, and the results are stunning.

Eden Gardens has been transformed for the World Cup, thanks to the hard work of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), which has worked hard to have the venue ready before the World Cup's opening match.

There are still a few minor adjustments that need to be made here and there, so Eden is not quite finished. Without a doubt, though, the location—particularly the B.C. Roy Club House grounds and a few of the buildings—gives the idea that the Eden will stage cricket's biggest event ever with a certain amount of grandeur.

Through the main gate of the CAB, one can access the first floor of the Club House via the renovated staircase. Ascending the stairs, one can see illuminated photographs of several teams, including the India team that won the 2011 World Cup, Australia led by Allan Border holding the Cup after Australia defeated England in the 1987 final at Eden, and Imran Khan raising the trophy after Pakistan won in 1992.

An additional option is to veer far left before ascending to the first floor in order to see "Eden's Nostalgia."

That's a section of the wall that features a collage of some of the most memorable moments that have been captured at the legendary venue. It features not only well-known former cricket players but also notable figures from other fields, such as Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan during a charity match more than 40 years ago and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who attended the CAB's golden jubilee celebrations in 1981.

If one goes all the way to the right, they will find "Sweet Memories of Eden Gardens," another collage that mostly shows previous captains of Pakistan and India who were there at the event.

The newly installed chandeliers on the first and second floors give the entire space a sparkling appearance. One of the walls outside the refurbished VVIP conference/dining room is decorated with lit photos from the historic pink-ball test between Bangladesh and India in November 2019—the nation's first-ever day-night test.

The "Legends of Eden Gardens" collage greets visitors to the media center. It features former chief minister Jyoti Basu and the legendary Nelson Mandela during South Africa's historic first-ever appearance in international cricket following the end of apartheid. Other collages include one featuring former BCCI president and captain of India Sourav Ganguly alongside Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and chief minister Mamata Banerjee prior to the start of the pink-ball Test, and Pele playing for Cosmos against Mohun Bagan, among others.

"We aimed to create a museum-like atmosphere at the Club House. Since Eden Gardens is hosting a unique competition similar to the World Cup, we wanted to decorate it and make it appear as unique as we could.

"We think everyone will enjoy themselves here," CAB secretary Naresh Ojha said in an interview with The Telegraph on Monday.

But that's not all. Vertical gardens, a unique form of urban gardening ideal for limited spaces, may be found at blocks "B," "C," "K," and "L." They are especially useful for decorating walls and rooftops in a variety of designs.

There is a temporary two-story building being constructed next to the curator's chamber. It will house many studios and a few corporate boxes.

A senior CAB officer stated, "Army officials could be using the corporate boxes."

Additionally, special events are scheduled for the November 5 India vs. South Africa match and the November 16 second semi-final. "There may be a laser show before the India-South Africa match, but the details for the semi-final match haven't been finalized yet," a CAB insider stated.

Ticket maze

It has been reported that the CAB was forced to reduce ticket distribution by much to 42% as a result of the International Cricket Council's directive. This suggests that there's a chance that the five World Cup matches that Eden is set to host will not provide life, annual, and associate members with their fair proportion of tickets.

In a day or two, there will be a meeting of the upper body. We'll work to find a solution so that, as in the past, the members receive their fair amount of tickets," said a different CAB representative.
