According to studio estimates provided on Sunday, Dune: Part Two, starring Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya, made an astounding USD 81.5 million in ticket sales and dominated the North American box office.

The film, which is helmed by Denis Villeneuve, is the follow-up to 2021's Dune and the second installment in the Frank Herbert novel's 1965 movie adaptation.


Dune: Part Two maintained its incredible success abroad, earning an extra USD 97 million to reach an astounding USD 178.5 million at its worldwide premiere.

The movie is also picking up steam in the Indian box office, with Rebecca Fergusson, Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh all playing significant parts. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that it took in Rs 2.75 crore nett on opening day, Rs 3.66 crore nett on Saturday, and Rs 4 crore nett on Sunday.

Dune: Part Two's amazing Rs 11.25 crore nett total in India was boosted by an extra 0.7 crore nett from paid screenings on Thursday.

Warner Bros. strategically decided to reschedule the picture from October 2023 to March 2023 in light of the Hollywood strikes. This change made it possible for the renowned ensemble to participate in a full-fledged promotional tour, which helped the film have a huge opening weekend.

The popularity of Dune: Part Two is a continuation of that of its predecessor, which attracted slightly more than USD 100 million domestically and an astounding USD 400 million worldwide throughout its theatrical run.
