BTS's Jimin to Release "Closer Than This," a Fan Song Filled with Love and Affection

Closer Than This, a digital single by BTS member Park Jimin that is described as a representation of "his genuine feelings for ARMY (fans)", is scheduled for release on December 22. The K-pop group's record label, Big Hit Music, made the announcement on the South Korean website Weverse on Wednesday.

The official statement said, "We are excited to announce the release of BTS member Jimin's digital single, 'Closer Than This.'" It continued, "Closer Than This will bring you hope and warmth with its lyrics conveying Jimin's love and affection for his fans."

Big Hit Music also shared the post on X (previously Twitter).

The news was announced to the BTS ARMY via Instagram by the agency. Love you so much, my #Jimin, they wrote alongside a video of Jimin dancing in a studio to the song's soundtrack.

Jimin is joined by V, another band member, in the second scene of the same video. The two step out of the room after striking a pose in front of a wall mirror.

The video received a positive response from viewers, with one saying, "Can't wait jiminshiii." "I can't wait for Jimin's new single, it's going to be amazing, another masterpiece," wrote another commenter. This brief teaser sounds amazing.

With more than 40 million albums sold, BTS is the band with the greatest sales history in South Korea's music industry as of 2023. Even in India, their songs, which center on modern themes like mental health, bullying of teenagers attending school, loss, self-love, and the bittersweet aftereffects of fame and recognition, have a sizable fan following.

Dynamite (2021), BTS's first entirely English song, received over 8.6 million views in India within the first day of its release.

On December 22, at 10.30 am, India will be able to stream Jimin's upcoming digital single, "Closer Than This."
