Central Kolkata Building Catchs Fire, But No One Is Hurt

22 June 2024, Kolkata — Early on Saturday morning, a fire broke out in a building in the Dalhousie neighborhood of central Kolkata, according to police sources. The event happened in Garstin Place, behind Bankshall Court, at approximately 4:30 in the morning.

To put out the flames, seven fire tenders were sent to the spot right away. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries from the fire.

An officer reported that the fire was contained in less than an hour. Although preliminary signs suggest that there was an electrical short circuit, police are waiting on the forensics report to corroborate this.
