Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Rajkumar Hirani Have a Blast Discussing Dunki in New Video

In an exclusive video released by Red Chillies Entertainment on Monday, Taapsee Pannu questioned aloud about the film's "romantic" label as it required her to perform stunts. Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani engaged in a playful debate over whether or not to reveal the plot of Dunki.

Released ahead of Dunki's December 21 release, the 29-minute short, which stars Shah Rukh and the filmmaker, opens with the actor's signature humor, encouraging Hirani to reveal the whole plot. But Hirani was able to duck the question by countering that giving out too much would ruin the moviegoing experience. Shah Rukh jokingly complimented Hirani's talent for keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with his trailers, which caused laughter.

Hirani then dove into the origins of the movie, describing how he was enthralled by the sight of little airplanes decorating homes in rural Punjab. Afterwards, he discovered that these little aircraft indicate that a family member has moved overseas. This gave Hirani an idea for Dunki, and he went on to learn more about illegal immigration via donkey flights as a result of this seed being sown in his head.

Shah Rukh went on to say, "Dunki means being apart from your loved ones," citing a scene in the movie. He shared pictures from the session and said, "We live apart from our loved ones so that we can come back to them and stay together."

The three of them had a great time talking about different elements of filming, including Taapsee's surprise move into action scenes, which left her perplexed about the romance concept of the movie. "I was finally relieved, thinking that I was going to do a romantic film with SRK, after doing five or six sports films." After that, learning how to wrestle was the first task I was given for Dunki. I was then informed that SRK himself was the one I should beat up. Hirani and Shah Rukh burst into laughing as Taapsee joked, looking confused. "I was left wondering what kind of romance this was."

Along with lighthearted tales about Vicky Kaushal, his co-star, Shah Rukh also highlighted their on-screen friendship. Shah Rukh recalled a scenario in which they split a lemon between them and said, "People become blood brothers, but we became nimbu-brothers." We were enamored. He even said on a few occasions that he married Katrina Kaif too soon and that he should have married me instead.

Regarding Vicky's father Sham Kaushal, the film's action director, Hirani shared some humorous tales. He said that Sham Kaushal wanted to be connected to Dunki from the very beginning of the writing process. Hirani said that Vicky was filming the action sequences, and Sham was concerned.

The behind-the-scenes photos then show Taapsee appearing as a living statue while filming in London. To the pleasure of the cast and crew, he even managed to steal several pounds from unwary bystanders. The three of them laughed heartily as they remembered a romantic moment that had been filmed at a cemetery.
