Money Heist & Squid Game Get Interactive! Netflix Games Unveils 2024 Lineup
86 Ad-Free Games Promised by Year's End, Including Popular Show Tie-Ins
Netflix has announced in a blog post that video games based on popular shows Money Heist: Ultimate Choice and Squid Games will debut on the platform in 2024.
By the end of the year, Netflix plans to provide its subscribers with 86 video games without any advertisements, in-app purchases, or additional fees. This information was shared on the company blog on Wednesday by Netflix Games Vice President Mike Verdu.
Shortly after the debut of Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality show based on the South Korean television series of the same name, Netflix was named as a major destination for must-play games in the announcement.
There are currently about 90 more games in development for Netflix's ever-growing interactive fiction library. In addition to the three Grand Theft Auto games that were released on Thursday, other games that are playable on the streaming service are Netflix Stories: Love is Blind, Storyteller, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, Football Manager 24 Mobile, and Storyteller.
In addition to tailoring the game selection to each individual user, Netflix Games is testing the games' compatibility across all platforms, including smartphones and TVs.
