New Zealand Cricket Security Delegation Prepares for Pakistan Tour

A security group from New Zealand Cricket will go to Pakistan before to their five-match Twenty20 International series in April of this year.

Heath Mills, a senior officer of the NZ players organization, and private security specialist Reg Dickason will be part of the trip, according to a trustworthy source close to the Pakistan Cricket Board.

In recent years, Dickason has served as the ICC's and other cricket boards' go-to security advisor when elite teams have visited Pakistan.

Pakistan hosted Australia (twice) and New Zealand (once) in the 2022–2023 season.

The insider said, "The delegation is scheduled to visit Lahore and Rawalpindi in early March, where the matches are likely to be held."

This tour by the Kiwi side is a follow-up to the five Twenty20 Internationals that Pakistan played in New Zealand in January of this year, and it is not a part of the ICC FTP.

To supervise the security arrangements for the visiting team, the security delegation will tour the stadiums and team lodgings in addition to meeting with representatives of the government and security agencies.

Due to a security issue, the New Zealand white-ball team left Rawalpindi in September 2021 without playing a match in the much expected series.

The New Zealand administration, which considered it a significant danger, made the decision to send the squad home at the highest level.

Later, in the 2022–2023 cricket season, when New Zealand visited Pakistan again to play an ODI and Test series, followed by a different white-ball series.
