PM Modi Asserts BJD Government’s Expiry Date in Odisha is June 4

Berhampur - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing his first election rally in Odisha, asserted that the expiry date of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government in the state is June 4, 2024, the day the assembly election results will be announced.

In an apparent dig at BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Modi stated, “Odisha needs a CM who understands Odia language and culture.” He further added that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form a “double-engine government” in the state after the elections.

Modi claimed that Odisha has not benefitted from the Ayushman Bharat Yojana as the “BJD government did not implement” it in the state. He also pointed out that the Centre had allocated Rs 10,000 crore to Odisha under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ scheme, but the BJD government failed to utilize the funds properly.

The Prime Minister urged the people of Odisha to give the BJP a chance to govern. “You have given 50 years to Congress and 25 years to BJD. Just give five years to the BJP. We will make Odisha the number one state in the country,” Modi said at the rally.

Despite Odisha’s fertile land, abundant mineral resources, and extensive coastlines, Modi claimed that the people of the state remain impoverished.

The BJP has released a visionary manifesto for Odisha, promising jobs for youths and women, and health facilities for senior citizens. “BJP fulfils what it says,” Modi added, emphasizing the party’s commitment to its promises.

The assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Odisha will be held simultaneously, marking a crucial period for the state’s political future.
