PM Modi flags off India's first rapid train, says 'not in the habit of dreaming small'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he had the habit of dreaming big and suggested that he would be in power after the 2024 parliamentary elections.

Mujhe chhote sapne dekhne ki aadat nahin hai, aur naa hi mujhe marte marte chalne ki aadat hai (I am not in the habit of dreaming small or taking lazy steps,” Modi said after flagging off the country’s first rapid train, named Namo Bharat, between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot in Ghaziabad. The train would run on the 17km stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).

Modi reminded that he had laid the foundation stone of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Corridor Project four- and-a-half years ago. Once completed, it would cover 82.15km between Meerut and Delhi. “I will be there at your service after one-and-a-half years when the Meerut part of the project will be opened,” Modi said.
