In Kotrani mohalla here, police discovered vandalized pictures of former President A P J Abdul Kalam and B R Ambedkar that had been painted on a school wall.

Government Primary School's boundary wall featured inspirational quotes and various painted portraits of notable individuals.


School Principal Sheetal Joshi condemned the incident and claimed that as soon as she saw the defacement, she reported it to the police.

Ambedkar's portrait featured a Punjabi phrase that emphasized the importance of education and urged people to teach their children.

In English, Kalam once said, "You have to dream before the dream comes true."

According to police reports, the quotations were unaltered, but the faces of Dr. Ambedkar and Kalam were vandalized.

Police have recovered the DVR (Digital Video Recorder) of a CCTV camera that was installed nearby, according to Phagwara DSP Jaspreet Singh.

"We are investigating the matter and a case will be registered after viewing the footage," he stated.

Ambedkar Sena Moolnivasi Punjab President Harbhajan Suman also denounced the vandalism and called for the offenders to be prosecuted under the SC/ST Act and under sections for disturbing the peace.
