Rhaenyra Targaryen Strategizes as War Escalates in Game of Thrones Prequel

The makers of the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragons recently released the Episode 4 trailer, in which Rhaenyra Targaryen leads her faction's dragons to Riverlands for a titanic battle between the Blacks and the Greens.

The 55-second teaser opens with Rhaenyra and Rhaenys discussing their next move in the Dance of the Dragons, which has intensified to the point where neither of the opposing groups can recall why they started fighting in the first place.

"Reason is forgotten when the desire to burn and kill takes hold," Rhaenys remarks as dramatic scenes featuring Jacaerys Velaryon and the Kingmaker Ser Criston Cole play in the background.

The Black Council attempts to get the upper hand by sending their dragons to fight, while Aegon and Aemond plan to intensify the coming conflict. Rhaenys cautions the Blacks at the end of the trailer not to unleash their dragons, lest they invite their own demise.

"We cannot wait for battle to come to us while hiding in our castle.The series' official X page posted the trailer along with the message, "New #HOTD airs Sunday on @StreamonMax."

House of the Dragon, which is based on George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood, is centered on the history of the House Targaryen, from Aegon's Conquest to the Dance of the Dragons. Among his heirs, there is an ongoing power struggle that creates a turbulent period.
