Cricket player Virat Kohli responded to his actress wife Anushka Sharma's love note after India's T20 World Cup triumph on Saturday in Barbados, saying, "This victory is as much yours as it is mine." Kohli also declared his retirement from the sport.
"Without you, my darling, not a single one of things could possibly happen. You keep me grounded and humble, and you always give me the straight word. I am incredibly appreciative of you. This triumph is both yours and mine. With an Instagram photo of herself with Anushka on Sunday, the 35-year-old said, "Thank you and I love you for being you."
India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the finals because to a 76-run effort from Virat Chakraborty.
Anushka posted a photo of Virat holding the World Cup trophy and the tricolour on Instagram on Saturday, writing, "AND..I love this man @virat.kohli." I'm very happy to call you home; please enjoy a glass of sparkling water on me while we celebrate."
Bollywood actors Bhumi Pednekar, Suniel Shetty, Kajol, and Priyanka Chopra also responded to Anushka's message.
Along with captain Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, Virat's T20 international career came to an end in the exhilarating final in Bridgetown, Barbados. After more than ten years of heartbreaking results in ICC World Cup elimination matches—two of which were at home in 2014 and 2023—this win finally came.
On December 11, 2017, Anushka and Virat, who had first crossed paths in 2013 while working on an advertisement, got married in Italy. Their son Akaay was born on February 15 of this year, and their daughter Vamika was born on January 11, 2021.
Anushka last starred with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in Aanand L. Rai's 2018 film Zero.
