Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Health Struggles and Personal Challenges in Debut Podcast
Actress Reflects on Difficult Period Leading to Autoimmune Diagnosis and Separation from Naga Chaitanya
Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who divorced actor Naga Chaitanya in 2021 and was given an autoimmune myositis diagnosis the following year, has described the days preceding up to her diagnosis as "very difficult" since she was unable to unwind for a "long, long time."
In the first segment of her health podcast Take 20, which debuted on Monday, the 36-year-old said, "I remember specifically the year before I had this problem, it was an extremely difficult year for me."

"I vividly recall the day I believe my boss, buddy, and partner Himank and I were returning from Mumbai. And I recall telling him that I was at last at ease at that June of the previous year. It has been a very, very long time since I felt even somewhat at ease and at ease. And now that I feel like I can breathe and go to sleep at last, I can get up, concentrate on my task, and give my all at work. And I had this illness when I woke up," the Kushi star said.
In October 2017, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya exchanged vows. After almost four years of marriage, they made the decision to divorce, which they announced in October 2021.
The Yashoda actress said, "I'd rather people be safe than sorry because of the harrowing experience that I've been through and, well, an autoimmune condition is lifelong, so with what I'm dealing with right now as well."
Samantha said last year that she would be putting her health first and taking a little sabbatical from performing. Just before the premiere of her movie Yashoda in 2022, she disclosed that she had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease myositis.
Samantha is slated to co-star with Varun Dhawan in the Indian version of Citadel, the American television series produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, despite her health issues. Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra played the key parts in the worldwide release.
