Proud parents and filmmaker friends praise Zoya Akhtar for her vision and dedication
Following the release of the trailer for their daughter Suhana's first feature film, The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar, on Thursday, proud parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan showered the film with accolades.
Shah Rukh wished the cast and crew a happy new year on social media, writing, "A contemporary subject with timeless characters #TheArchies... thrown into a world that is very fable-like."
The Jawan actress also complimented Zoya's commitment and directing technique. "Zoya has given the movie such a pure, innocent feel...Perhaps in the same way as our planet would be if we had a more environmentally conscious mindset.

Gauri was also giddy with anticipation for the next movie. "What a lovely world...amazing people with a heartfelt story to convey. Gratitude, Zoya and best wishes to the #TheArchies family," she said on Instagram after the release of the teaser.

The clip, which offers a glimpse into Zoya's early career as a director, was also posted on social media by filmmaker Karan Johar, a friend of the Khan family. "I grew up with Zoya, and she was always the more intelligent and wiser of us! The Koffee with Karan host said on Instagram, "She had more actors turn her down than most tables at high end restaurants, and she waited seven years to start her first film (so much for nepotism and privilege)."
Karan reminisced about Zoya's early hardships in breaking into the business and how the filmmaker never wavered in his commitment to producing movies with "passion and perseverance." About working with Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar on Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Karan said in a touching message, "She listened to her inner voice and not anyone else and made a super hit award winning film."

An version of the well-known American comics series of the same name is called The Archies. Numerous actors make their acting debuts in the movie, including Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda and Shah Rukh's daughter Suhana.
On December 7, The Archies will make their Netflix debut.
