Teammates React to Babar Azam's Resignation as Captain
Some Praise His Leadership, Others Remain Silent
Teammates' reactions to Babar Azam's decision to resign as captain of Pakistan have been diverse; some have praised the 29-year-old's leadership qualities on social media, while others have said nothing.
Babar made the announcement on Wednesday that he will give up leadership positions in all Pakistani forms after the team's elimination from the World Cup semifinals.
After missing the main event due to an injury, Pacer Naseem Shah came to X to show his support for Babar.
"It has been an incredible honor to have played and made my white ball debut under your leadership—four years of unadulterated bliss. Shah commented, "You have always led from the front and inspired us to believe in 'One Team, One Dream'."
Muhammad Rizwan, a wicketkeeper batter and frequent Babar aide, too wrote a heartfelt ode.
"You are without a doubt among the best batsmen Pakistan has ever produced."
an intermediate batter Iftikhar Ahmed also showered Babar's captaincy with praise.
"It has been a privilege to represent Pakistan under your leadership."
Former players like Azhar Ali, Saeed Ajmal, Muhammad Hafeez, and Azhar Mahmood also praised Babar for his effective team leadership.
Following their lackluster World Cup campaign, there were rumors of discord within the Pakistani team, with several players dissatisfied with Babar's leadership style.
Maybe some of the other colleagues, such Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali, were silent because of it.
Hafeez objective
Former Test captain Mohammad Hafeez said that he was thrilled to be named Pakistan's team director and that they would work together to achieve greatness. In addition to his role as coach, Hafeez will be advised by the PCB while selecting the team's new support personnel for the upcoming trips to Australia and New Zealand.
