Tilak Varma learns from Rinku Singh to finish games

Tilak Varma, a young left-handed hitter, tries to emulate Rinku Singh, particularly in terms of concluding games.

In Thursday's opening Twenty20 International match against Australia, Varma got off to a strong start before making a bad shot and giving up his wicket.

Rinku is teaching me how to complete games because he does it for India on a regular basis. In the lead-up to Sunday's second Twenty20 international, Tilak stated, "I also want to finish well and hopefully I will be doing that in the coming matches."

Tilak, on the other hand, appears to be understanding his function more clearly and feels free from expectation-related strain. "I'm not under any expectation-related pressure," he declared. "I simply have a job to do, and I have to do it well for the team. I'll take a shot if it's in my arc; if not, I'll merely rotation strike. I play that part.

Tilak wants to hold onto his good form and be consistent. "I participated in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy prior to this series, and I did well there. I haven't really focused on any one aspect, therefore my goal is to keep up this solid effort," stated the 21-year-old, who finished first in Hyderabad's national T20 league with 288 runs at an average of 96.
