Beyoncé Unveils Tracklist for Country Album "Cowboy Carter" with Tribute to Icons

The track list for American singer-songwriter Beyoncé's next country album, Cowboy Carter, which is set for a worldwide release on March 29, was unveiled on Thursday.

Beyoncé shared a poster with 27 song titles, teasing that Jolene and The Linda Martell Show, a tribute to country music legends Dolly Parton and Linda Martell, will be on the album. It's unclear, though, if the singers would be featured on the record.

The poster's tagline is "Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit."

The singer of Single Ladies had previously released the hits "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages," which peaked at number one on Billboard's Top 100 chart. Ameriican Requiem, Blackbiird, Protector, My Rose, Smoke Hour Willie Nelson, Bodyguard, Dolly P, and Jolene are among the other tracks on the CD.

Jolene pays homage to the legendary smash song from Dolly Parton from 1973, while Smoke Hour Willie Nelson suggests a possible collaboration with the country singer-guitarist.

The poster contains Beyoncé's song The Linda Martell Show, which pays homage to the country soloist who became the first black female artist to perform at the Grand Ole Opry, a regular live country music radio broadcast aired from Tennessee.

Daughter, Spaghettii, Alligator Tears, Smoke Hour II, Just for Fun, II Most Wanted, Levii's Jeans, Flamenco, Ya Ya, Oh Louisiana, Desert Eagle, Riiverdance, Tyrant, II Hands II Heaven, Sweet Honey Buckin', and Amen are some of the other songs that will be included on the CD.

The follow-up to the singer's 2022 album Renaissance is called Cowboy Carter. On June 20, 2022, Beyoncé released the first single off Renaissance Part I, titled "Break My Soul." On her official website at the time, she had declared that the album will consist of three parts.

When the artist showed up at the Grammy Awards this year wearing a cowboy attire, rumors that the second portion might have a country theme began to circulate. The black community was honored in Renaissance Part I, and since vocalists like Linda Martell are included on the poster, it is likely that the second part will do the same.

"It took more than five years to create this record. It all started with an encounter I had years ago when I didn't feel welcome.and I wasn't, that much was evident. However, as a result of that encounter, I researched our extensive musical collection and took a closer look at the history of country music," Beyonce stated in an Instagram post on March 9.

Beyoncé went on to say that she had to "propel past the limitations that were put on her" due to the criticism she received after deciding to pursue a career in country music. "Act II is a result of challenging myself and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work," the author stated in her writing.

"This album isn't country. "This is a 'Beyoncé' album," the singer said, asking listeners to approach the record in the same manner they would any other album she has released.

On May 10 of last year, Beyoncé started her ninth concert tour, called the Renaissance World Tour. It came to an end in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 1, 2023. She then released Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, a documentary concert film, in November.
