In their T20 World Cup Group C match, the West Indies crushed Uganda by 134 runs, with left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein taking five wickets.

Utilizing their experience with the home environment and significant contributions from their batsmen, particularly Andre Russell (30 not out) and Johnson Charles (44), the West Indies amassed a formidable 173 for five.

The most successful bowler from Uganda was Brian Masaba, who claimed two wickets for 31 runs.

Uganda, the two-time T20 world champions, were unable to muster more than 39 runs in 12 overs in response, as Akeal destroyed the opposition middle and top order.

This was the second straight tournament victory for the West Indies.

West Indies: 173 for 5 in 20 overs (Andre Russell 30 not out, Johnson Charles 44, Nicholas Pooran 22, Rovman Powell 23, Sherfane Rutherford 22, Brian Masaba 2/31).

Uganda: Akeal Hosein 5/11; 39 all out in 12 overs.
