During a routine check on Tuesday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended a Bangladeshi citizen who had boarded the Mitali Express, which travels between Dhaka Cantonment and New Jalpaiguri, illegally. The incident occurred at the zero point in Haldibari, Cooch Behar district.

According to sources, Jihad Sheikh, a 25-year-old from Bangladesh's Faridpur area, boarded the train at Chilahati, the country's first railway stop along the route, and was hiding in the restroom.

The BSF was given custody of him. At a flag meeting at the border, the BSF handed over the youngster to the Border Guard Bangladesh after the necessary legal procedures were completed.

Cough syrups were confiscated.

The 61st battalion of the BSF intercepted Biswanath Debnath and Ariful Mondal on Tuesday evening. Ramkrishnapur is a hamlet in the South Dinajpur district that is under the control of the Hili police station.

The two were riding a motorbike through Chourangi More in the Patiram district. 120 bottles of cough syrup were discovered in their possession during a search.

The two were given to the police at Patiram.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the BSF carried up anti-smuggling operations in some locations, seizing animals and cough medication that were allegedly being trafficked illegally to Bangladesh.
