The second season of Netflix's supernatural mystery series Wednesday, which stars Jenna Ortega, is currently in production. The streaming service made the announcement on Tuesday and shared a trailer featuring the cast of the upcoming installment.

"A fresh enigma. same suffering. The streamer wrote, "WEDNESDAY season is now in production," as the Instagram caption for the image.

The video opens with Thing—a severed hand that serves as Wednesday's constant companion throughout the series—giving scripts to both returning and new cast members. In the next installment, Ortega is expected to play Wednesday Addams once more. In addition, Joy Sunday (Bianca), Luis Guzmán (Gomez), Emma Myers (Enid), Hunter Doohan (Tyler), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), and Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley) are returning to the cast.

Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn, Billie Piper as Capri, and Joanna Lumley as Grandmama are among the new cast members revealed in the video. The cast of Season 2 will also include Noah Taylor, Owen Painter, and Evie Templeton. Joanna Lumley, Jamie McShane, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Joonas Suotamo, Fred Armisen, and Christopher Lloyd are among the guest stars.

"Hello Thing...more torture awaits," the video shows Wednesday saying to Thing. The first chapter, which was directed by Tim Burton, is titled "Here We Woe Again," according to a close-up of the script.

The mystery series' creators, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, announced at Netflix's Tudum that it has been renewed for a second season in June 2023.

When the first episode of the series concluded on November 23, 2022, Hyde (Doohan) was still alive and Wednesday was getting menacing messages and phone calls from an unidentified number. According to reports, the second season will premiere at this point. Fans may have to wait until 2025, though, before they can enjoy this next installment.
