'Bhumi Pednekar's Heartfelt Tribute: Gold Coins from Mom for Acting Milestones'

After seeing her most recent movie, Bhakshak, Bhumi Pednekar's mother gave her a gold coin as a thank you, the actress said on Instagram on Thursday.

With a photo of her mother Sumitra Satish Pednekar kissing her forehead, the 34-year-old actress stated, "Mummy gives me a gold coin every time she feels I have grown as an actor."


The Thank You For Coming actress went on to say that she could tell her mother was "overwhelmed" by her performance in Bhakshak and that this meant she was going to get another coin.


Bhumi, who went to the Bhakshak movie theater with her mother and sister Samiksha, remembered that nobody spoke on the way back to their house. The actress said in her message, "Once we were home, Samiksha started talking to me and there were just tears rolling down her eyes."

"This movie is about what it does for those kids, not what it does for you. After coming home after the movie, Samiksha had informed Bhumi, "We can't let them down again."

The actress said that her mother gave her a total of seven pennies. She went on, "There is no award greater than the one I receive from my family."

Bhumi ended her statement by thanking her mother and sister. The actress thanked her mother, saying, "Thank you for being my biggest critic and my biggest cheerleader."

Bhumi portrays a gutsy local reporter in Bhakshak, a Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment joint effort, who utilizes all of her power to look into the mistreatment of young girls in a shelter in Munawwarpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Bhakshak, directed by Pulkit, is Red Chillies Entertainment's second digital production after the 2022 movie Darlings, which starred Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah, and Alia Bhatt. On February 9, Netflix released the criminal thriller, which also stars Sanjay Mishra and Sai Tamhankar in significant roles.
