BJD Launches Jan Sampark Yatra, Naveen Slams Opposition

On Monday, the same day as Gandhi Jayanti, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President and Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik started the party's mass-contact program, Jan Sampark Yatra, and urged the party members to bring the development efforts to the doorsteps of the populace.

When an election is coming, the opposition adopts this strategy, but the people always reject it, Naveen remarked, launching a stinging attack on them for spreading false information and misleading the public. The opposition is hostile to both people and development. They engage in these actions, and as a result, the state's residents continue to reject them. The populace is aware of their anti-development and anti-people strategies. They are working together to thwart the advancement. People won't begrudge them.

Naveen mentioned how the opposition had objected to the continuing construction projects surrounding the 11th-century Lingaraj Temple and the 12th-century Shree Jagannath Temple. "People will never elect them to power," he declared.

Naveen said that his government was fighting for the rights of women by providing them with 33% of the available seats, citing the success of his party. The mass-contact initiative, which began on Monday, will end on Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan's birthday, October 11.

Even though the BJD organizes the Jan Sampark Yatra every year, this year's focus will be on making sure that all the government's developmental initiatives reach the people and are adequately recognized. According to reports, actions would be launched to recruit as many teenagers as possible to the party.

Party officials have been tasked by Naveen to plan the Jan Sampark Yatra event in each of the state's Assembly districts. Additionally, the party would launch a one-month training program for its employees on October 12th.

Additionally, Naveen has given the party leaders the go-ahead to plan a constituency-level commemoration of the party's founding day on December 26. All party leaders would swear to work toward making Odisha the best state on the day of the party's founding.

On the other hand, in an effort to engage voters, the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) launched Ghar Ghar Congress on September 25. On Monday, it arrived in Satya Nagar in Bhubaneswar. Sarat Patnaik, head of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), took part in the padayatra. Up to October 15, the mass-contact campaign would continue.

The BJD's Jan Sampark Yatra was referred to as a "Betrayal Yatra" by the main opposition, the BJP. "They betrayed the people over the years and failed to address the various issues of the people, including the farmers over the last 23 years," claimed BJP vice-president (Odisha unit) Golak Mohapatra.

"Our mass-contact program is ongoing in the form of the Meri Mati Mera Desh Program," stated Mohapatra.
