Bun Tikki Director Fulfills Late Mother's Dream by Directing Zeenat Aman
Faraz Arif Ansari Shares Emotional Story on Instagram, Thanks Actress for Making Wish Come True
In a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday, Bun Tikki director Faraz Arif Ansari stated that he had been able to fulfill his late mother's request for him to collaborate with Zeenat Aman by directing the Bollywood legend for the next film.
"She said to me, 'Gudiya, you have to promise me that you will work with Zeenat ji someday,' one evening while we were cooking together and listening to her 'Zeenat Aman Hits' mixtape.' — in many ways, this was her gentle way of telling me that she accepts my decision to follow my filmmaking dreams," he wrote on Instagram.

The director disclosed that, although his mother was an avid admirer of Zeenat, she had discouraged him from pursuing a career in filmmaking. "Zeenat ji was adored by my mother. I clearly recall that when I informed Mamma that I wanted to become a filmmaker, she wasn't too excited about me choosing a professional path that no one in my family had ever taken.
Faraz also shared a photo of Zeenat petting his cheeks, saying that his mother would have loved this particular photograph. "I'm positive. He expressed his gratitude to Zeenat for fulfilling his mother's wish in the note, saying, "She would've framed it and kept it, to look at it everyday."
Faraz remembered that in 2023, while filming a tearful scene with Zeenat for Bun Tikki, he smelled her mother's favorite perfume. Her mother went away in 2022. My mother was there as I closed my eyes and grinned. I am what I am and will be today because of her blessings. Without her, nothing exists," he wrote.
Star of Bun Tikki Abhay Deol posted, "I love this," in the comments area.
Filming for Bun Tikki, which also stars Shabana Azmi and child actor Rohaan P Singh, has concluded. Following the 1982 crime drama Ashanti, Zeenat and Shabana will reunite on screen in the upcoming film, which is produced by Manish Malhotra.
