Notwithstanding Cristiano Ronaldo's goal, Al Nassr was eliminated from the Asian Champions League quarterfinals.

Al Nassr defeated Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates 4-3 in Riyadh on Monday in retaliation for their 0-1 first-leg loss.

But they fell short in the 3-1 penalty shootout. The only player from the home team to score in the shootout was Ronaldo.

During regulation time, the 39-year-old Ronaldo did miss a few opportunities.

The lone goal scorer from the first game, Soufiane Rahimi, was far more efficient on Monday. The Moroccan gave Al Ain a 3-0 lead overall by scoring twice in the first half.

However, Al Nassr's Abdulrahman Ghareeb pulled one back just before the half, and Eisa's own goal shortly after made it 2-2 for the evening.

Alex Telles' goal for Al Nassr with eighteen minutes left in regulation time sent the match into overtime.

Sultan Al Shamsi gave Al Ain their lead back, but Ronaldo's penalty kick with 118 seconds remaining tied the score at 4–4 overall.
