Less than a day after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli declared their retirements from Twenty20 international cricket, Ravindra Jadeja followed suit.

Jadeja said goodbye to the international T20 cricket scene on Saturday, hours after India captured their second World Cup title in Bridgetown. "I bid farewell to T20 internationals with a heart full of gratitude," Jadeja posted on his Instagram page on Sunday.

"Like a proud and unwavering horse, I have always given my all for my nation and I will continue to do so in many capacities. For me, winning the T20 World Cup was the high point of my T20 international career and a dream come true. I appreciate all of the laughs, memories, and steadfast support you have given me.

Because of Jadeja's choice, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav would be expected to take on more responsibility and have a larger role.

Jadeja had 74 T20I matches before retiring, therefore her impact in this World Cup was minimal. In five innings, he faced just 22 balls, scoring 35 runs, and bowled 14 overs at an economy rate of 7.57, taking one wicket.

Prize money of ₹125cr

Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, praised India's victory in the T20 Cup and declared ₹125 crore in prize money for the group. Shah posted on X, saying, "I am happy to announce prize money of INR 125 crore for Team India for winning the T20 World Cup 2024."
