Anusha Paul, a former NewsClick employee, was home when the Delhi police conducted a raid near Kodumon and took her laptop and phone for testing as part of an investigation.

Paul informed reporters that she was questioned about her connections to NewsClick and the CPI(M) after a three-person squad of Delhi police recorded her statement and seized computer devices on Friday.

According to her, the inquiries included inquiries concerning her reporting on farmers' demonstrations, anti-NRC-CAA demonstrations, and the COVID-19 management of the Centre.

"This is a witch-hunt to threaten the organisation and its employees who used to raise voice against the Narendra Modi government and the RSS," she stated.

Paul remained in Kerala as a close family member underwent medical care.

She added that the Delhi Police had questioned her on her familiarity with K M Tiwari, the CPI(M)'s state secretary for Delhi.

Yes, I am aware of him. I said it to them. He serves as the CPI(M)'s state secretary. I work for CPI(M). I serve as the state treasurer and a member of the state committee for the Democratic Youth Federation of India's (DYFI) Delhi chapter, she said.

Paul clarified that the raid squad did not include the Kerala police.

On Tuesday night, after questioning and seizing the electronic equipment of 46 journalists and contributors to the online news portal, the Delhi Police's Special Cell detained NewsClick's founder and editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayastha and the head of the department in charge of human resources.
