Dhupguri MLA Nirmal Chandra Roy to Fly to Calcutta to Take Oath on Saturday

The Dhupguri Trinamul Congress MLA, Nirmal Chandra Roy, flew from Bagdogra to Calcutta on Friday to take his oath at Raj Bhavan on Saturday.

On Friday morning, he left his Dhupguri home and traveled to the airport. In order to learn more about tomorrow's event, I will first contact Sovondeb Chattopadhyay (state minister for parliamentary affairs) once I get in Calcutta. Roy stated, "I want to help the people in my district.

The state government and governor C.V. Ananda Bose have been at odds over his oath of office for the past week.

Ultimately, it was agreed that Roy, who had won the Dhupguri by-election earlier in the month, would receive the oath from Bose.

Leading Trinamul officials, including Sovondeb, have accused the governor of stalling the procedure, which is preventing Roy from beginning his formal duties.

Trinamul officials voiced dissatisfaction with the event late on Friday night and claimed that Raj Bhavan had not extended an invitation to Biman Banerjee, Speaker of the Assembly.

A party official stated, "The state parliamentary affairs departments have decided to send Tapash Roy (a senior MLA) to the swearing-in celebration.
