Jharkhand's political unrest came to an end on Thursday morning when irate Congress MLAs from Delhi returned and said they would be present for the budget meeting, which is the first of this administration headed by Champai Soren, starting on Friday.

Notably, following the cabinet's extension on February 16, 12 Congress unhappy MLAs publicly expressed their disapproval over the presence of "old faces" in the Champai ministry. The Congress party has decided to keep Alamgir Alam, Badal Patralekh, Banna Gupta, and Rameshwar Oraon as cabinet members.

The 12 MLAs had remained at Ranchi Circuit House shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, and eight of them went for Delhi on Sunday to inform the party high leadership of their complaints and make a threat to abstain from the Assembly session if their concerns were not resolved.

Irfan Ansari, a Jamtara MLA, said that they spoke with K.C. Venugopal, the general secretary of the AICC, when they were in Delhi and told him about their complaints.

Venugopal ji said that the party would make the right choices in the near future and that they are aware of all of Jharkhand's actions. We provided him with a thorough report. The party high leadership has given us encouraging signals," Ansari said.

He said that the Congress MLAs will be present for the Assembly's budget session.

In the meanwhile, former chief minister Hemant Soren's request to attend the budget session was denied by the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court on Thursday, dealing a blow to the governing JMM-Congress-RJD.

Following the hearing of Hemant's motion and the arguments from both parties on Wednesday, the court deferred its ruling.
