DYFI Begins Statewide March to Demand Jobs and Education

Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth arm of the CPM, began a statewide march on Friday to demand jobs and education from Cooch Behar.

It was from this same spot that Trinamul national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee began his Nabajowar Yatra a few months before.

DYFI leaders and workers will march almost 2,000 miles as part of the Insaf Yatra over the course of the next two months, and in January, they will gather for a public rally at the Brigade Parade Grounds in Calcutta.

"We've started the march to demand work and education. On January 7, a large-scale public gathering will take place in the city, and we will march from Cooch Behar to Calcutta in support of the people's demands. Minakshi Mukherjee, the state secretary of the DYFI, said, "We will be traveling during the next sixty days to inform people about how they are being denied by the state and federal governments.

Minakshi and other youth front leaders participated in a public gathering in Cooch Behar town before to the start of the march.

"People in anguish are spending days on end in this situation. The kids are the most severely impacted. The school system has failed and there is no work. We have called the march the Insaf Yatra because we want justice for them," Minakshi said.

According to political analysts, the Left is attempting to energize its base of support in order to challenge Trinamul and the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

"Trinamul, the CPM, and the Congress are in the INDIA coalition, but it is unlikely that they would share seats in Bengal. According to one observer, the CPM seems to have mobilized its young front in order to garner support before to the parliamentary elections.

DYFI officials said that there would be public meetings, street-corner gatherings, and rallies throughout the statewide push.

In order to comprehend the issues that individuals of all ages face, our leaders and employees will engage with them. A DYFI leader said, "They will also inform the general public about the bad policies of the federal and state governments as well as about corruption that is destroying the future of the next generation and making life difficult for people everywhere."
