In the T20 World Cup final on Saturday, India will play South Africa, and former captain Surendra Ganguly feels optimistic about their chances of winning.

He is impressed by Rohit Sharma's leadership abilities, which have been a major factor in India's tournament-long winning streak.

"I'm thrilled for Rohit Sharma." Life completes a cycle. In a Friday advertisement, Sourav stated, "Six months ago, he wasn't even the Mumbai Indians captain. Now, that same man is leading India to a World Cup final, undefeated."

After Virat Kohli stepped down as captain, the previous BCCI president disclosed that Rohit was hesitant to assume the position.

"He has participated in two World Cup finals where he was undefeated going into the match. That demonstrates his leadership and captaincy, and I'm not shocked because he was appointed captain while I served as BCCI president and Virat decided he no longer wanted to lead India.

"He wasn't prepared to be captain, thus it took a long time to make him captain. We all had to put in a lot of effort to get him appointed captain, and I'm thrilled with how Indian cricket has advanced under his leadership.

In these kinds of tournaments, Sourav believed, luck is a major factor.

"In seven (six) months, I don't think he can lose two World Cup finals. If he loses both of his finals while serving as captain, he'll most likely dive into the seas off Barbados. He batted beautifully and led from the front. I hope India ends up on the right side, and they ought to be allowed to play freely.

"They have proven to be the more formidable opponent. I hope they have success. I hope they have a little bit of luck tomorrow (Saturday), as winning major tournaments requires it," he continued.
