Comedian to Return to Oscars Stage for Fourth Time
The 96th Academy Awards will be hosted by comedian and television personality Jimmy Kimmel in 2024, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said on Thursday.

Kimmel's fourth year hosting Hollywood's most renowned night will be the 96th Academy Awards. The Oscars were previously hosted by Jimmy Kimmel Live host Jimmy Kimmel in 2017, 2018, and 2023.
With this news, Kimmel becomes the fourth host of the Oscars, after the late actor Jack Lemmon and actor-comedian Whoopi Goldberg. Only three people have hosted the Oscars more than four times: Johnny Carson (5), Billy Crystal (2009), and Bob Hope (11).
"I'm thrilled to announce that on Sunday, March 10th, I will be hosting the Oscars again. Kimmel said on X, "Please keep it between us, thanks @TheAcademy," showing his excitement about the chance.

"We are ecstatic that Molly will be returning as executive producer for the Oscars and Jimmy will be hosting again. Variety, a US-based entertainment publication, received a statement from Academy CEO Bill Kramer stating, "They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience."
On Sunday, March 10, 2024, the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood will host the 96th Academy Awards ceremony.
