Netflix Renews Sci-Fi Hit 3 Body Problem for Additional Seasons

The sci-fi thriller 3 Body Problem on Netflix has been renewed for more episodes to wrap up the plot, the streaming service revealed on Thursday.

David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo produced 3 Body Problem, which is based on the best-selling novels by Cixin Liu. It tells the story of Ye Wenjie, a young lady who travels through time and space to make a crucial decision during China's Cultural Revolution in the 1960s (originally represented by Zine Tseng, then by Rosalind Chao).

"We're ecstatic to be able to tell this narrative all the way to its grand finale. We have wanted to take the audience to the end of the universe with us ever since we turned the last page of Cixin Liu's amazing trilogy. In a joint statement on X, Benioff, Weiss, and Woo declared, "Here we go."

3 Body Problem held the top spot on Netflix for three weeks and was on the streamer's Top 10 list for seven weeks. Additionally, the program reached the Top 10 in 93 different nations.

Starring on Netflix are Jovan Adepo as Saul Durand, Rosalind Chao as Ye Wenjie, John Bradley as Jack Rooney, Liam Cunningham as Thomas Wade, and Eiza González as Auggie Salazar. In addition, Jess Hong, Marlo Kelly, Jonathan Pryce, Zine Tseng, Saamer Usmani, Sea Shimooka, Alex Sharp, and Benedict Wong are included.

In addition to Benioff, Weiss, and Woo, the show's executive producers have also included Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue.

On March 21, 3 Body Problem made its Netflix debut.
